In August 2019 – we constructed the first real skatepark of eastern Europe in downtown Budapest, Hungary.
Eastern Europe holds a lot of skateboarders but unfortunately like many other parts of the world – skatepark constructions end up in the hands of the wrong people. People who have never stepped on a skateboard.
The local skateboarders have fought for a real skatepark for many years. Thanks to them and especially Marta Kallay – the fight was won. We carried out the project with five local skateboarders, in order to pass on our skills – so they could eventually build world class parks on their own.
This project was intended as inspiration, showing the possibilities when the right people are involved. We truly hope to see more skater built parks in Eastern Europe in the years to come.
